Vienna Race Crew
The Vienna Race Crew from Vienna is currently the largest driver group on THEDRIVERS,APP and we took the opportunity to invite the mastermind Tobi for an interview
Hey Tobi, we're delighted that you're doing this interview with us and telling us more about you and the Vienna Race Crew.
Why don't you start with a few driver facts about you as the initiator and representative of the Vienna Race Crew Who are you and what are you passionate about?
Hello Chris, thank you for the opportunity to represent us more to the outside world and to show us in your THEDRIVERS.APP according to our ideas. As for me, even as a child I was never the tallest, but one thing was always clear to me: I wanted to be tall enough to drive a car. This wish came true, of course, and I couldn't get enough of getting closer and closer to motorsport with my not too big means. After a visit to the MINI Challenge, I was hooked and found my second home "race track".
Some time later, I decided to form a group with friends to go to the race track together, just to be there. So the first wheel nut of the ViennaRaceCrew was tightened.
What's interesting about the Vienna Race Crew is that you are an open club for both cars and motorbikes. What is the ratio of cars vs. motorbikes and how do they get along on rides, or how do you organise yourselves?
The ratio is rather motorbike-heavy for us, we look for a balanced ratio. For many, it seems impossible: "How can you only ride with a car in a motorbike group, that doesn't work!" I have to correct this statement, which I have often heard, by saying that we are a motorbike AND car group and yes, our mixed rides have been working very well since 2017. I don't want to share too many details about exactly how we handle it because of our long experience. In any case, we have a lot of discipline and understanding among our members, so we are able to organise our rides with new members and have just as much fun and passion for riding.
What are your preferences for cars and motorbikes? What are you passionate about and what are the brakes for?
The Vienna Race Crew was initially conceived as a "ride to the race track together".
This developed into a group with more and more members and also through our passion for "driving" motorbikes and cars, which is making more and more trips. As we share a passion for "driving", we have no preferences for particular cars and motorbikes. Our aim is to have a lot of fun on our rides and meetings in a good group dynamic.
We imagine that the area around Vienna is certainly varied and exciting to explore. Which routes are you most likely to be found on? What are the must-do routes around Vienna and which routes are still on your to-do list?
Yes, there really is a lot to ride around Vienna and some routes to improve your cornering profile. The Leithagebirge is highly recommended, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Neusiedl, among other things. We have now reached the point where we are looking for more and more challenges, from more distance to discovering new routes.
A visit to the race track is a must in the future.
What are your next activities and can we join you?
Of course, our trips will continue to be a very big part of the crew. These will become more and more challenging in the future and are also planned for our club, which is set to "start" next year, every now and then over a weekend. Apart from the rides, we will also hire kart tracks for races and take part in trackdays for cars and motorbikes, although not necessarily at the same time.
Anyone who shares our passion for driving and drives a car and/or motorbike is welcome to join us.
Vielen Dank Tobi für die Vorstellung der Vienna Race Crew und wir freuen uns seid Ihr mit dabei auf THEDRIVERS.APP.
